My daughter (9th grader) new to indoor track ran a 1:58 600. We just bought running flats with spikes. How much will that take off her time?
What is she likely to improve to with practice?

Since you already have the spikes and she is (I assume) going to wear them, what is the point of the question? Have her practice. Have her wear the spikes. There will be your answer.
Move up to the 1500,3000. Those middles distances are worth nothing.
If she ran the 1:58 600 with running flats instead of trainers she would have run about a 1:43.
Honest it maKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE.
1-2 second improvement on the 600.......thats all!
15 seconds faster because of running flats is dreaming.
