So I've got a general question/discussion starter:
My 5k pr is 17:55 (nothing spectacular) which I ran on Thanksgiving on a course that isn't necessarily a super fast course. My mileage has been between 20-25 miles with little to no speed work. I ran four 30+ mile weeks in October but backed down in November. My body has never really been able to handle high mileage (ex. I fractured my heel bone my senior year of college XC trying to get above 35 miles a week). I am 6' and around 170-175 pounds depending on the season and have a big upper body build (natural, not from lifting). I'm not convinced I can get any lower in weight without starving myself which I have no interest in doing. I have also read of people on here running 70 mpw and running between 18:xx and 19 for 5ks.
So my question is, do I keep with my 30 mpw? I
It would also be nice to hear from some people about their 5k prs vs. the amount of mileage they are running.
