PB's are for swimmers, joggers and movie stars. Runners have always used, in the past and into the foreseeable future, PR's...
I always say PR and get confused by PB.
PB sounds like "I did my best," even if it wasn't very good. PR might sound a tad pretentious (if you say the whole personal record), but legit.
PR!!!!!!!!!!!!
its always been this term... dont try and mess it up with "PB"... WTF???
America = PR
Britain and Ireland = PB
It's the number after it that matters, not the name.
I prefer PR.
PB sounds like a sandwich. PBJ.

And 'PR' doesn't sound like 'Public Relations'?
"He's got (a) good PR."

That would be runners use PR. The rest of the running world, including the IAAF when it posts race results, uses PB.
It\'s all PB here in Aussieland.
What about PBR? that sounds cool, like the beer, and everyone uses the same term!
I prefer PR, but I say personal best.
Road = PB
Track = PR
Since road courses aren't uniform.
Your northern neighbours use PB too.
Dear Mr. Canadien,
Our northern neighbors apparently can't even spell their nationality correctly (I believe it's "Canadian"). Why would we mimic their terminology? More importantly, if it's going to be "canadian," it should be "canadia." Or change the nationality to "canadan." Remember when your country had a meaningful impact on the world, or even any impact? Oh, that's right...
It's PR people. PB is for the slow girls who do hs track to lose pounds and boost self-esteem. If you're racing competitively, it's your PR.

If I were a lovely lady of the north, I would call my self a Canadienne.

Professional Bullriding Association?
its French you dolt.
I've always used "PR," but acknowledge that there are those in the Greater NYC who could find my use of the term offensive.
[I also use "DNF" as a verb or noun--"He DNFed, he was a DNF"--but DFL only as an adjective--"He was DFL in the Olympics."
[Not sure what those have to do with anything, but this thread reminded me of them.]
