Any opinions on the Zoon Waffle or the Zoom Waffle XC. Very cheap at eastbay, and I need shoes. Also, are they basically the same shoe but one can have spikes. Anyone know anything about the tread?
They seem tough to pass up, only $20 at eastbay. I'm in school so cost is a major issue.
I live in the northeast, and need something with an aggressive tread. Been using asics ds racers and tiger paws. Recently bought a few pairs of Gel Lytes because they have a decent tread.

These are built like spikes, so if you're doing road racing, they may not be the right thing. For cross or indoor track on a budget, they're good shoes.
Man, I wear 9 and a half street shoe and bought the black zoom waffle in size 10...too small...I bought 10 and a half...still too small! I wear 10 in training shoe and have for YEARS!
One more thing:
Shoot, for $20, I'd get 'em to wear as slippers. I wonder if Eastbay has my size...
It says on the Eastbay website that they run 1 1/2 sizes small, I'd say that it's more like 2 sizes. I wear size 12 in the Ventilus , Air Streak Spectrum Plus and Air Span Triax, but my Waffle Racers are size 14 ! Maybe they have the sizing back on track now, but if youre going to get the yellow/silver/red pair, definitely go up two sizes.
