many places, there is a 12 (not exactly sure of the distance) mile loop trail near Jenny lake that starts near the parkinglot/shower facility near the campgrounds. (maybe its penny lake its been a while) thats really nice, the only thing is that part of the world is bear country so i wouldnt advise going it alone
to deter bears wear a bell on your shoe. They will scare the bears away.
The most convenient place I found was the Caribou reserve just outside of town.
