John Chaplin re-elected track Chair at the convention. Be sure you take the time to schedule beer drinking time with him at major meets. Let the wheels of greased palms continue. Anyone need an appeal to get into USAs?

Same old shit.
Wow,,,,they're really not changing a thing, are they?
I'm a masters road runner and really don't need a USATF membership. If Hightower gets elected, I'm going to email USATF and cancell my membership. I'm not allowed to vote. And with Champlin and Hightower staying in power, I don't want to give this "good old boys" organization any more of my money.
Looks like USATF CEO Doug Logan is all talk if he goes along with this. He is well aware of John Chaplin's quarter-century legacy of corruption starting with coaching/recruiting scandals leading to NCAA sanctions and his dismissal at Washington State, and continuing through the 2008 US Olympic Trials.
USATF has long since lost its moral compass and they are not worth supporting.

If he was elected by the membership, what do you want Logan to do, overturn the elections?
The membership was not allowed to participate openly, they were pre-selected and lobbied.
for example I am a USATF member and cannot vote in this election by mail-in ballot...even if I took time off work and spent the money to go to Reno in an attempt to vote.
Doug Logan should do the right thing and overturn this result. John Chaplin has a long and well-documented history of breaking the rules.
Same old same old
Things will never change. There are only 127? people that could possibly vote for Men's TF chair. Hard to not get re-elected in this organization.
Ray are you at this year's Nat convention? Any word on the Womens Oly Trials standards in particular the Marathon? Say hello to your sweet wife for me, how is her running going?
I'm not sure there's anything, according to the rules, that Logan can do about this.
The hope is that USOC goes ahead and decertifies USATF

Classy.
Listen you cheeky sod I meant it!
Logan was able to pass bylaws to open the meeting that will put all the power in his hands. it may look like the same old, but it doesn't matter who is president now, they will have no authority
women's standards announced today
sub 2:46 (1 minute faster than '08)
2 "non marathon" times will get you in
10,000m (track) - sub 33:00
1/2 marathon - sub 1:!5

Agreed. Logan has to abide by the bylaws of the organization.
The athletes worked hard to get Chaplin overturned, but I think it was too little too late (they have 20% of the vote). There is a lot of frustration in AAC about Chaplin.
What Logan can do is enforce the rules that already exist, and I guarantee you he will hold Chaplin accountable whenever appropriate.
You're a phony.
Sarah is very real. You're a phony.
Sarah,
Kate is doing well. Still training hard but hasn't raced in some time. I haven't been back to a convention since Indianapolis. Talk about phony? That's what far too many of the people at the top turned out to be. Hope you are well.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
