I saw a runnersworld video of him in New York last month. He said, "I want the American record in the 10K. I've still got a sub 13:00 5K left in me."
Is he just fantasizing now? Adam Goucher is one of my favorite runners but he's had a mediocre year and he's old.
Is he done?
Is Adam Goucher done?

He's clearly smoking some good shit out in Oregon. I'd say sub-13:15, maybe. Pretty much done.
-
He pulled a sub 28 out of his butt at the trials. He still has some left in the tank IF he can stay healthy. sub 13 5k, I doubt it, but 13:10-:20 is a definite possibility.
-
Goucher has a better chance then Tegenkamp to run a sub 13:00 5k.
-
He is living through his wife.
-
He is as done as a burned slice of toast. Too much grass running and not enough time on the crete.
-
If Goucher had a sub 13:00 in him, it would have come out by now - now, as an old guy to say that he still has one left in him is complete and utter fantasy. If he does run sub 13:00 it will be because Salazar has brewed up a new secret sauce.

maybe he is past his prime, maybe not; but I think he realizes that he will never be in the last 2 laps of a world class 5 or 10k, no matter what he does. A hard reality when he looks at the talent coming out of east african countries. However, he could become 'Tim Culpepper' and cherrypick races for prize money the next few years and do pretty well. If healthy, he is still one of our top 5 or so runners, for whatever that is worth.

You, "sir," are the LEAST funny troll on the boards. Please keep it up. -
no one is done until they pour dirt on them.

Deer Adam Goucher,
Don't Give Up! -
Dannyboy - Get married, get a pair of Gel Nimbus 10s, and grind out 92 miles per week on the crete.

you imbecile, I got a stress fracture from running 100 mpw mostly on concrete sidewalks. I have since switched to more asphalt and mixed in some sure footing trails, along with enough crete. -
Why do you think he said 92 and not 100?

true. asphalt is much softer and actually has some 'give' to it, though it's hard to really tell when you are on it; but it is much easier on the joints and bones than concrete. Only an idiot would do all of their running on concrete. He will have bad arthritis in 15 years. His knees will be shot. -

Exactly; you gotta love these races with big time 'American only' prize money. They do a great job of encouraging people like Culpepper and maybe now Goucher. American only money should be like 1-2K tops; just enough to help guys buy some new shoes, some extra calories of food, and travel to their next race, while they aspire to beat Africans. -

I agree 100%. I also believe that no race should be allowed to give away prize money greater than $1000 without also having drug testing. -
He may be your favorite runner, but remember when he acted like a total bitch at the 2008 Olympic Trials? Maybe it's just me, but I expect real men to make correct decisions. It doesn't take a genius to know that he and Rupp made a farse out of the 5k heats. I rooted for Bob Kennedy in his Twilight, but Adam Goucher can such a fudge,
