Ok lets start the debate. So far it looks like Nike OTC and Zap dueling it out with Hanson(marathoners)in 3rd. I know more teams will be addining in the next few days. Who else is coming and who else will be strong? Aggies,Indiana, Transports, BRC were all in the top 6 last year.
Ladies not real sure about them, fill me in.
OTC is way better than anyone else. Zap will be good but I think McMillan Elite will be entering a team and be better. The Hanson marathon crew will be 4th.

Just wondering if it is just me but what is the definition of a club team.. I don't consider teams with paid runners as club status. All of the teams so far are runners being paid to run. Does USATF have rules for runners on contracts being on a club team? These teams need to go to USA XC and duke it out.
The rules are simple. Any club member. Anyone can be part of a club and any club can pay their athletes or provide whatever they want. They must all reside in the same association. So if the OTC had athletes living all over the country, they would not be eligible.

Not entirely true. No such thing as "national" teams anymore, but if you've always been a member of a team (and paid association dues) since they changed the residency rule you're in. So, if ZAP had someone in Colorado that had been in the NC association in 2002 and they'd paid dues and has been in the ZAP team (an no other) since then they're in.
In any case my Aggie bros are going to wipe the floor with those McMillan Elite guys. It won't be the dance floor though, but thankfully we're bring some masters guys to keep all the ladies company.
You guys are nuts. Hansons will win by a landslide. No other team can find 5 guys that won't crap the bed, or DNF.
Hansons will not be on the podium. Sell will be their only guy in the top 10 with their 5th about 30th and folks that aint going to get it done this year.
The Hansons are only going because it is in Washington. They are doing something with Brooks at their headquarters in Seattle an then running the meet because they are in the area. They are there to support the event. They have no plans of being on the podium.

The rule of officiality officially states that there needs to be at least 25 pound signs.

We debate these stupid issues every year before this great race. This race has pretty much become one of the keystones for the social side of the sport. Lets get down to the real issues.
Will there be a band this year? Not some lame middle age guy spinning horrible tracks.
Will there be free beer? Last time the race was in the NW they had free MGD all night! I know, I know the plastic bottle was a bummer but hey, it was free.

Also not entirely true. If your home association gives you a release, you can compete for a club based in a different association. I live in AZ but am member of a club based 2000 miles away.
In that case, do you need to be a member of the club outside your association for 3 years before becoming eligible to score for your team in this event?

I think it's 3 months, but I'm not sure. I'm 49, so it really ain't an issue for me.
