This was a really complicated process, but I believe I have a possible version of who has qualified for nationals. If you have corrections or disagreements, please post. Notes are below.
William & Mary
2. Florida State
4. Iowa St.
8. NC State
9. Butler (push)
10 Notre Dame
The big confusion comes after the first 4 at-large teams. Portland has tie-breakers over NC-State, because Porltand beat Alabama who in turn beat NC STate at Pre-nats. But neither Portland nor Villanova had common opponents of note. If anyone can help here, it's appreciated because this matchup is a tough one. I think the committee has to go down to the tie-breaker of who has the better top runner, where Hugo Beamish finished 2nd at regionals while Portland's top finished 3rd. Tough call, but the arbitrary choice is therefore villanova.
After that, Notre Dame pushes Butler in, because they wouldn't have the points otherwise. 5th in the west cannot push washington in because they end up getting in in 13th, so Florida's win over Notre Dame slips them in at 12th.
Does that make sense?
If the committee finds some other reason for Portland to get in before Villanova, it really won't change things because Villanova then gets in ahead of Florida on tie-breaks.
So I'm pretty sure this is a strong prediction.
