I quit running six weeks ago due to a Tibial stress fracture.I know this is the case for I had seen a doc about it and he wanted me to go to rehab but I didn't have the money and lost my job.
I rehabilitated myself the best I knew how. I rode a bike regular, did shin strengthening exercises,planks,hops,crunches,Bird dogs,neg. calf raises, calf raises, squats,leg curls,quad extensions, walk on heels,and walk,skip,jog on my tip toes straight, pointing out,and pointing in. I did this routine sometimes everyday and some times every other day plus riding the bike. I ran playing flag football last Sunday and no pain. I can hop up and down on the affected leg and no pain.
Please give me feed back on whether to start out easy running again or whatever? I know I need to be talking to a doctor but again I lost my job and don't have insurance either. Should I go a few more weeks not running or give it a try? I'm a 43 year old male 5foot 9 168lbs. Thanks anyone.
