I have just been told (by someone who really should be a very reliable source) that mark Rowland (former Olympic 3k chase Bronze medalist from GB) has been appointed as the new head track and field coach at Oregon. I can't find any information on this anywhere - is it a load of rubbish??

This is true. He starts in November and UK 800m runner Jemma Simpson is likely to move with him. He will be headcoach at the Nike Track Club
great pick, not only was he a badass runner himself but also coached athletes like Mike East to the top.
How reliable is this? I cant see this happening as it would be a massive blow to UKA!

There is a BIG difference between being coach of the Oregon Track Club, and being coach of the University of Oregon. Rowland is going to replace Frank Gagliano as coach of the Oregon Track Club Elite. Vin Lananna remains the head coach of the University of Oregon track team.
