Middleweight Champion of the World

I was there. A very respectable time for a guy who has a title fight in six days.

He was also a really nice guy...shaking hands..posing for pictures...no "posse" present.

Kelly has been "honored" at a couple Cavs games and he has been on the radio a few times for interviews. Everybody that meets him likes him. I just happened to see his name going through the results.

By all accounts, Pavlik is a good guy. ESPN the Mag ran an article a couple weeks ago claiming he runs 6 miles in 31 minutes as part of his training. This week, a reader wrote in saying, "BS, I seriously doubt Pavlik can run a 10K in 32:15" and the response from the editors was "we have proof". Needless to say, they didn't provide said proof.

I realize this race was pretty close to a title fight. Can he run sub 32?

OK I did a little searching. His trainer claimed this recent 10K was run at "6 minute per mile pace", and Kelly said he felt like he ran "pretty good". I'm guessing his training runs might be more like unmeasured 5 milers in 32 minutes.

No disrepect, I was just surprised at the claim.

If pavlik can run 6:00 pace, then bernard hopkins must be the bekele of boxing, cuz he ran circles around that guy.
