Strange. In a country where women are allowed to vote, why is there such a favorable view of polygamy? Yes, I know it is technically illegal there, but why are so many women for it in Kenya? More importantly, how many of our lovely LR wimminfolk would be open to the idea? (Call me......)

why wouldn't there be? it certainly seems much more natural than does a man made construct like monogamy.

You certainly wouldn't have to worry about postnuptial shut-off! Competition is like female viagra.
I saw a fascinating British documentary several years ago, that seemed to document multi-partner sexual activity among various peoples as a survival mechanism --- i.e. to improve fertility and chance of impregnation.
Google up "sperm competition", and there is lots of interesting reading there. From a purely scientific perspective, of course.

From the guy's standpoint, he has more than one source of sex.

Wrong. Given a choice and not living in a hard scrabble farming economy that lacks modern machinery women choose for the most part to be with one man

Where will you find multiple women to marry you and not a guy with more money, better looks, etc.? Guys like that will get all the women and leave scrawny runners with no hope (even more so).
One woman and more than one husband is actually called polyandry. Good try though.

It's bad enough getting turned down from the wife. Imagine getting turned down by three wives in the same night.
Polygamy = too many wives
