Michigan men won easily. Iona did not run many of their top guys. Penn State women won. Men's winner in the 24:20's
While I know it is September and no one owes anyone anything, so I do get it,but I think it kind of stinks that teams hold an Invite, a fairly solid one at that billed as an MOC and then hold their guys out in what should have been a nice matchup.
Again, no other point than that. Folks fly in for this, spend some real bucks and Nationally ranked HOST team run their B guys? Oh well.
who was in the top 5 at iona?? male and female

Muhamed and Forys NJ guys looking good early on.
Someone please tell me that Lex Williams of Michigan is not injured/sick AGAIN.
Held out, could have run if they had to run him.
for all the crap PSU gets, they ran pretty good here it looks like taking second.
Was there any indication that Iona was running their full squad? They normally do not have their full \'A\' team gear up until regionals. With that in mind, I\'m assuming this was your first time and I guess your team ran their full squad.
I would really surprised if the coach for your team was expecting Iona to have their full squad. Just need to check the last few years results to confirm before registering.
Sorry if you felt that it was a waste of time and money. The weather was good, running at famed VCP and with great competition (Iona still finished 3rd). Not to mention spending the afternoon in NYC.
I did not fly anywhere. Nor did I coach any team there. As it turns out UM would have beaten Iona even had they run at full strength, even without Lex Williams it looks like to me.
No waste of time for me or anyone else. I think many would have like to see this matchup at full strength, matters not in the end.

Strong running Irish import Ciaran O Lionaird just edged Forys to lead the team in, 7th U Mich guy was 30th overall nice packing.
For the teams that travel is it usual to take some time to sightseeing after the races or do they sky right up?
I have known some teams to go down into times square and do some sightseeing.
Iona only ran 1 of their top 5. Some of the top 5 will run at Paul Short. A couple guys may not even make their debut until Pre Nats. It is only September now...
Do you know if this was the regular 8k course or a revised version? I know there was construction there and didnt know if it was the same course as in past years
The start was different. It did a mini loop around the part of the field not fenced off. The rest of the course was exactly the same as past years.
Definitely some quick results this early in the season.
some ghetto homevideo footage of the races ( you can kind of see where the construction is)
