I am trying to settle a bet. What is the fastest you can negative split an 800m, quarter split only. My friend claims that there is no way it is physically possible to run sub 1:50 and negative split (55, 54). I believe that there are a few world class guys out there that can do it. But even these guys run consistently slower each 200m as the race progresses.
The fastest I have negative split an 8 is 1:57 (59,58). My PR is 152 (53,59). Out of curiosity, what is the fastest you've negative split an 8?
what's with all these retarded threads? the "any chemists" thread that's asking how to find the area of a square, the thread about how to find the average of 8 mile times, and now this. Of course there are "a few world class guys who could do it." There are a lot of guys who could negative split sub-1:50. You don't have to be world class to be able to do that. To answer your original question, I wouldn't have put it past Kipketer to neg split a 1:42, but it would be a tiny negative split
