this guy's career, which looked so promising only 2 years ago (beating Bolt easily in Lausanne running 19.6) is rapidly on the decline.
just out of interest too, the pic in the article shows him a fila top, supposedly taken this week. does this mean Nike have given him the heave-ho?

(2000 AP file)
Xavier Carter works out on the track at Palm Bay Hig on Wednesday afternoon. Carter was arrested early Sunday morning in Alachua County, his second brush with the law since relocating to the area to train for the Olympics. (2000 AP file) -
This guy or some of the people around him might have to get him in contact with Angelo Taylor. Taylor can share his experience of buckling down and turning his life around.

Taylor is innocent. I'm 18.
Xavier was just the lookout, he didn't do nothing wrong. -
This is the third time this guy's been arrested in less than a year and he's cruising around with a loaded gun and they let him out without even posting bail? WTF is wrong with out justice system?
-
3 arrests in one year? This guy has like cleanest slate around...he qualifies for Citizen of the year!!!
-
thats him in HS

they got more important shit to worry about like terrorists, drug trafficking, underage prostitution and rape, grand theft auto, and things like drunk driving. Maybe having a pistol, a constitutional amendment (right to bear arms) and driving around listening to loud music isnt that big of a deal when you're looking at the grand scheme of things.
-
This guy is a disgrace to my name.

Police found a loaded Smith & Wesson .40-caliber pistol in the pocket of Carter's driver-side door after he was pulled over for driving with a business-purpose-only license, according to jail records. Carter told police he shot the gun earlier in the day but didn't specify where and why, the records stated. The gun reportedly was not in a holster.

Wow broad range...terrorism to drunk driving.
Good thing he didn't have a gun when he was stomping that car.
I'm still an X-Man fan (on the track) but his off-track behavior makes it hard for me to believe he's ever going to set another PR, unless he gets serious. -
"He was arrested with Florida defensive end Jermaine Cunningham after allegedly attempting to run from police, who wanted to question him about an incident in a Gainesville sandwich shop"
How did they catch him!?!? -
Maybe they chased him over 800m (who would win over 800m, the X man or a well-trained police officer?)
-
What a guy to follow in tiny Tim's footsteps...maybe they can get together and start a new gang..."the fast-crips"...doing drive-by's by foot...:P
-
The X-man is L A N C E D.

I would pick Carter as the winner. -

He's a sprinter, he couldn't just run, he had to stand around stretching for a few minutes first.
Anyway, what was he doing, stealing a sandwich? Not very ambitious, not exactly robbing a bank or a diamond store. -
if he was smart and got himself a gun permit, this would not be a problem for him...

excellent. -
Well there is his problem right there, he's training in florida, of course he is carrying a gun. What a terrible place to live
-
the way he is acting..he should be playing in the NFL
