Our senior xc A team coach has introduced a new training initiative, in order to implement doubles. We have become training partners and pacemakers for the local semi pro boxing club who are made to complete a fast 40 minute road run at 7am on 5 mornings per week to introduce speed, strength and stamina. We push them hard and its interesting to train with different sportsmen and in return we can use their gym for our weeekly circuit and light weights sessions. We all work to encourage and support each other and it it beats the usual boredom of putting in 100mpw on the roads with the same training pack. This has added a new dimension to our training regimes.
Anyone else used this type of training co-operation and with any success?
