Wariner runs 44.15, which you would think would be the fastest time of the semis, but then Merritt runs 44.12. All said 11 men under 45.
LaShawn and Jeremy look to be in a league of their own as expected (both the only runners under 44.5). But there are several guys who could probably take the bronze.
My guess:
1. Wariner 43.63
2. Merritt 43.79
3. Brown (Bah) 44.21

Wariner looked very relaxed, Merritt was pressing. However, with Wariner having lane 7 in the final and Merritt looking rather, eh, buffed this year, we might see a new Oly champ. Rooney might improve again but I don't think he can medal this time out.
the wariner-merritt difference was all in reaction time. take that away and they were even. as for lane 7, it's not that bad, since you get a very gradual curve, wariner knows how to run his first 200 hard without seeing anyone, and he'll see merritt plenty with 100 to go.
Shouldn't Wariner be in Lane 5 with Merritt in Lane 4?
