Started 'real' running about 6 weeks ago (turned 50) after 2 1/2 years off ... ended up running 18:59 and feeling pretty easy so maybe it's time to dust off the shoes!
Nice work!
I'm still recuperating from a foot injury, and managed 25-26 miles and 2-3 sessions in the cardio room. Foot seems to be doing OK (although there's a twinge in there after running - not pain, but something), and the worst thing is I apparently OVERDID the cross training for the three weeks I was out. Legs have been heavy and sore since I started back to running 1.5 weeks ago.
On Wednesday I raced a 5000 to see where I'm at.... was ~ 45s slower than I would have expected 4 weeks earlier. Some of that is lost fitness, but I think most of it is heavy legs from overdoing the X-training.
Will run light and easy until the spring comes back into the legs, and then will think about ramping back up toward normal training.
Have a great week, everyone!
PS - saw Tropic Thunder with the lovely Mrs Pete yesterday.... this movie isn't for everyone, but we giggled (and guffawed - and my wife snorted a few times) our way through the whole thing. Definitely aimed at the 14 year old boy's sense of humour. Luckily we both have that sense of humour, ha!
