I am a 17 year old runner in HS. At the start of the this I really began to take running seriously and started to up my mileage and run year around. I made serious improvements going from my 26:20 7k in CC to a 8:58 3000m in the spring as well as a 15:42 5k on the road.
The problem I have run into is my parents think that I am running too much and want to focus on other things. They say i'm too skinny and I am not eating enough because I make my own meals sometimes for a healthier choice. But it has gone too far They stop driving me to races, my training shoes start disapearing. Now I can handle the no ride, I should probably get my license anyway. But this past weekend I was planning on riding my bike to a road race when I woke up to my find my rear tire mysteriously flat from the night. Maybe it did just leak, maybe not.
How do I get my parents to understand that this is healthy and that running more is better for me?
