Maths is short for mathematics so in any case their version is more grammatically correct than our 'math'. Biatch.

Your post is accurate but can you stop using the word "dumbasses' is each one of your posts. You give your identity away.

You are are just like the "douchebag" guy who uses that word in every post.

I know a couple of actuaries who set up a small company that designs, implements, and administers defined benefit pension plans 401(k), cash balanace, or profit sharing plans for other companies. Fewer defined benefit plans are being set up these days but being an actuary allows them more options for clients. They seem to have a very nice lifestyle and not a lot of stress at work. If I had the disclipline to go through the studying, I do it. First I'd get a QKA designation though since that would ensure a job pretty easily without a lot of hard work.

I used the search function to see if this is true and it is not. Apparently, a lot of people spell it the same way I do and I would imagine it's the same way with the "douchebag guy". Search for "dumbass" and "douchebag" in Google News and you will see that both of those forms are commonly used. Nice try though.

OP, I know some people who started out being actuaries but I don't know where they are now. They were good test takers and taking exams wasn't a big deal to them. It seems like a long process, but good employers will give you time to study for the exam. There are actually schools with an actuarial science major if you're really interested. I don't know what that would be like though.

A nearly life-long friend is an actuary. It's definitely a very good career for him. After 10 years with the same company, they "went under", but he was unconcerned, saying he could get a job quickly & easily. He was right. They've migrated him a bit to financial numbers, etc... because of how well his career's taught him.

I'm not an actuary either, but I passed five or six of the exams. They are doable. I failed one, but passed when I retook it. The exam guides are very helpful. But I now have a BA in math and a PhD in statistics, so it may have come naturally to me.
