Hey guys, I'm convinced the Asics DS trainer is the best running shoe for overall training...tempo runs, fartleks, speedwork and even enough protection for long runs.
Anyone else love these running shoes as much as I do??

Yes, I absolutely love these babies!! woot woot.
The DS Trainer has undergone many changes in the course of it's lifetime, but the current one is the best yet!!
You can usually find people selling them online at pretty decent prices...I found a size 10 selling remarkably cheap for like $30 bucks.

Get 'em if you're a men's size 10...
i love this shoe. im on my 5th pair!
yes, get them.
I used them from 96 to 2000 and loved them. I would get them through my school and got about 10 pairs at a time. Then the changes of the model got way too radical and I stopped using them. Right now I have been using the Asics Gel cumulus9 for some time now and I really like them.
You should try out the adidas Adizero Tempo if you like a lightweight trainer. I had pretty good luck with the Nike Zoom Elite 1 and the Asics DS Trainer, but have since moved to the Tempo and really like it.
this are the ultimate shoe for everday running. I would recommend them to anyone. If you also like the racer st from brooks or the axiom...these are a great complimentary pick.
best interval shoe to workout it...I would buy 10 pairs if I could...I will buy pair on ebay instead...thank you come again.
I'm 6'6 200 in race shape and 215 lbs in training shape and I love the DS trainer! I can't use them everyday, but for how fat I am in running shoe terms they are great.
So, whoever posted above who runs in the Cumulus, do you find you need new ones every 2 months or less (even alternating shoes)? Grrr... (and I weigh only 113 lbs, but the ball of my foot on the shoe completely wears out & I run on roads, not soft surfaces generally)
Is 113 fat for a girl? Why are you running in cumulus?
i feel like the ds xi ones were the best, anyone know where to find a pair?
I rotate between three pairs and run on as many soft surfaces as I can (about 80% of my running is on dirt, grass, dirt road, or trail). I find that the shoes last me about 6 to 8 months that way. I weigh 170 (not fat, I am just big in addition to lifting a lot of weights) so, maybe it is that the shoe is just not for you?
DS Trainers FTW!
I like the Gel nimbus 1X...are the ds trainers a neutral shoe/?
i used to wear the ds trainers until around series X maybe where they started being over 100 dollars and switched to the cumulus cuz it was somewhat less expensive....i would recommend both shoes to anyone who likes comfort in a shoe and likes to run fast in their trainers
Why are the DS Trainers listed as a preformance stability shoes?
Anyone ever use the ASICS GEL-Hyper Speed 2?
the DS is listed as performance stability because it has a medial post to control pronation, much the same as the GT2130 and Kayano, but is much lighter and lower profile.
The medial post is what moves the shoe into what most call the stability category, and the weight moves it into the performance category.
I have run in the DS quite a bit, but currently find the adiZero Tempo to be working better for me.
im convinced that the brooks beast is the perfect training shoe.
cushioning, durability, stability, excellent heel to toe transition.
no shoe will ever come close to the beast.
the is why the GOAT (Tergat) wears the BEAST.
the Goat is a Beast.
they both rock my world.
i love them both~!!
