Nice run!
Good run by Ritz; what happened to Limo?
Ritz has run faster before, hasn't he?
Ritz' race was impressive. Times were about two minutes slow, so you have to figure he's not far off Hall right now. Nice job to Dathan and Brad!

Yes, but only 15 seconds faster. Sounds like he didn't have much wheels on him to cover some of those moves. He got dropped before 10k.
The ignorance of posters always astounds me. Yes Ritz has run faster - however it was under better conditions and he wasn't 4 weeks away from the Olympic marathon! He is still getting race sharp for the Olympics...I'm sure this race gives both Ritz and his coach Brad Hudson alot of good info going into the last 4 weeks of their prep work.
So shut the hell up...and just appreciate the fact that one of the better distance runners in the US had a strong performance and enjoy it!
goucher ran 5:02x 13.1
to be a player he must go 4:50x26.2
Not a bad run for Ritz. It wasn't like running in Houston, but the dew point was 65, so moderately humid. I think this is the first time that Ritz has had a solid effort when it was warm. He beat some pretty big names and picked up $5K in prize money. Good day.
70-degrees, 90% humidity according to NYRRC... great trial for Beijing.
That results link didn't work for me:

Kind of nice to see one of our guys' names up in the top three for achange. Ritz is playing it cool and smart imo.
Ritz is pleased with it, too. It should be a great confidence booster for him.
"I came in really feeling strong the last few miles, and that is a good sign for me leading into Beijing," Ritzenhein said. "This was a great last test for the Olympics, perfect for me. I am really thrilled with this."

I was surprised by Benita Johnson running this race after her dad passed away.. take a day off sister
hahahaha, why did you get so worked up? the poster merely asked someone to affirm his thoughts that Ritz has run faster at some point. you have issues

The course is not 2 minutes slow. Tadesse Tola is not in 58-minute half marathon shape. He ran a PB today. Get real.

Not quite.
NYC Half Marathon
Distance 13.1 miles
Expected finish 1:01
Sunrise 5:48
Start Time 7:00 (1:12 after sunrise)
Start Temp 66.2
Start Dew Point 64.4
Finish Time 8:01 (2:13 after sunrise)
Finish Temp 70.0
Finish Dew Point 66.9
Olympic Marathon Weather data avg 2002-2007
Distance 26.2 miles
Expected finish 2:15
Sunrise 5:34
Start Time 7:30 (1:56 after sunrise)
Start Temp 72.6
Start Dew point 69.7
Finish Time 9:45 (4:11 after sunrise)
Finish Temp 79.0
Finish Dew Point 69.8
The marathon is twice as long. Expect a starting temp 6 degrees warmer and a finish temp 9 degrees warmer. Since the Sun will have been above the horizon longer and at a higher elevation during the marathon the ambient ground temperature will be even warmer than the weather data shows (shade temperature). The dew point in Beijing is very predictable: 70 degrees, which is very humid.
New York City air = clean. Beijing air = horrendous.
• Dew Point(F)..........Perception
________________________________________
• 75+....................Extremely uncomfortable
• 70-74...................Very humid, quite uncomfortable
• 65-69...................A bit uncomfortable for most people
• 60-64...................Ok for most, but everyone begins to feel the humidity
• 55-59...................Comfortable
• 50-54...................Very comfortable
• <=49...................Feels like the west, very pleasant, a bit dry to some
http://www.shorstmeyer.com/wxfaqs/humidity/humidity.htmlYep, a LOT can happen between 13.1 and 26.2, especially in conditions like those expected in Beijing. A finish line at 13.1 in NYC today is a far cry from a finish line at 26.2 in either NYC today or in Beijing in mid-August.

rough one for goucher today from the looks of the results.
pretty good race for fasil, and a great half opener from antonio vega. he will be debuting at the marathon distance at the twin cities marathon this october.
Isn't that roughly what his wife ran in Scotland last year? Granted, it was a fast course on a cool day, but still...

Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
