See if you can come up with a better team than this:
Guard Michael Jordan
Guard Magic Johnson
Forward Larry Bird
Forward James Worthy
Center Akeem Olajuwon

How about Kareem Abdul Jabar at center, or Wilt Chamberlein? I definitely think they are more worthy than Hakeem Olujawon. I would even stick Tim Duncan in instead of him because of his 4 titles. Hakeem only won 2 with the Rockets. Wilt Chamberlein also had the infamous 100 point game.
Assuming that they have to all be playing at the same time...
Guard: Michael Jordan
Guard: Magic Johnson
Forward: Larry Bird
Forward: Scottie Pippen
Center: David Robinson
If they don't have to have played at same time...
Guard: Michael Jordan
Guard: Oscar Robinson
Forward: Larry Bird
Forward: Bill Russell (moving him from center position)
Center: Kareem Abul-Jabaar
James Worthy? Hilarious
Nash
Jordan
Johnson
Bird
Russell
I knew I would be in the minority on picking Olajawon, but think about it. Olaj. could have held either Jabbar or Wilt well under their average but neither of them could have held Akeen under 50. He would have been way too quick and versatile for either of them to deal with.
When the heck did Hakeem ever score 50???!!!
Don't know. Maybe never. But remember how he was consistently in the thirties and forties with David Robinson defending him in the NBA finals? And Robinson was much better defensively than either Wilt or Jabbar.
As for Worthy, I put him on the team for his ability to run the floor, which was unmatched by any other power forward. The man could fly down the court.
You got the first 3 names right
But for center there is no contest Bill Russell is the man in the middle.
Power forward is Tim Duncan.
Magic
Jordan
Bird
Duncan
Russell
29 Championships combined
Guard - Jordan (of course)
Guard - Magic (also considered Oscar Robertson, and LeBron, who I know is more of a forward, but still has good court vision and can bring the ball up)
Forward - Bird (he can stretch defenses, awesome team player, incredible competitor, can post up and hit 3s)
Forward - Bill Walton (either him or Duncan, great team players, but I give the nod to Walton, though he might be a natural center, because of his passing out of the high post and vision)
Center - Shaq (during the laker years, maybe not as fast as olajuwon, but just plain unstoppable for a few years)

No.
My five...Looking for team chemistry...Not the five best players at each position.
John Stockton
Michael Jordan
Bruce Bowen
Tim Duncan
Dwight Howard
How about this team:
Guard: Magic Johnson
Guard: Michael Jordan
Center: Wilt Chamberlain
Forward: Tim Duncan
Forward: Bill Russell
Runningart2004, you are the closest so far.
Here's my ultimate team:
C Wilt Chamberlain
PF Tim Duncan
SF Michael Jordan
SG Kobe Bryant
PG Oscar Robertson.
Yes, and I really don't like Kobe, but he's so good on both ends of the floor you have to have him on the court.

I concur, except I would replace Oscar Robertson with Magic Johnson, although I can see how it can go either way.

kobe,jabbar,magic,bird,shaq.
I think that several of those mentioned are better suited to the all-overrated team:
James Worthy - could run the floor, but no basketball skills - might have been a good 400m man
Scottie Pippin - we saw how good(mediocre) he really was after Jordan retired
Magic - a liability in the half-court offense - dribbled too much, couldn't shoot
plus
Patrick Ewing - might have traveled every single time he touched the ball during his career
Jason Kidd - if they had called palming the ball on the dribble, would have never got the ball to half court; also one of the worst shooters ever
Worthy would not even be in the top ten at his position

What was infamous about it? I know Russell won all the championships, but he also had all the other great players on his team. Wilt was an automatic 40 point, 20 rebound guy in his prime usually leading the league in FG percentage. He was so big and dominant on defense, they changed rules because of him. Later in his career he led the league in ASSISTS!!!
Chamberlain
Russell
Jordan
Bird
Magic
Just put these guys out there. They will figure out the positions they want to play.
Lebron may end up on this list if he gets just one other decent player on his team and can win multiple titles. Kobe showed in the finals his true colors against Boston. (He only won titles when he was Shaq's "Robin".) While Kobe got worse as his series went on, Lebron got better every game against Boston as he figured out the defenses. Lebron and Pierce's 40+ dual and Lebron's great game against Detroit last year is just a start to what will occur in the future. If Lebron doesn't get any teammates, he will be in the tier of Karl Malone and Charles Barkley.
Wow. You need to go watch some game tape. From my years watching (80s to present):G MagicG JordanC KareemF BirdF DuncanBench:G IsiahG KobeC ShaqF PippenF McHaleF MullinF Barkley? Maybe another guard. Maybe Hakeem.
