Lagat is the class of the field with Webb in sub-par shape. The race will be moderately fast through 800 and then Webb will take over. Webb and Lagat will gap the field, and Jennings will outkick the chase pack for second, passing a flailing Webb.

lukezic, lomong, and jennings will be close in the last lap but they won't have enough. Webb is just too strong guys, even in bad shape. He's at least in 3:50-3:49 shape right now. It will be a faster race and it will favor him. Lagat will be tired but ready. Manzano is a racer, he'll be ready.

4th will be Lomong outkicking Lukezic.

5th toss up but not Jennings, Jennings will die horribly over the final 200 and finish 9th.

sorry 6th is a toss up. 5th is Lukezic.

Should be very interesting; all of the guys are in it. I say there are at least 4 guys who have a legitimate shot at that 3rd spot. There are few guys that are not being discussed, who might suprise some people. If Lagat and Webb are smart, they should come through the 1200m at a 3:35 pace to reduce the field to 5 or 6.

Jennings could be interchanged with Lomong. Webb is too fat and has only confidence on the surface. He will doubt himself the last 80 meters and not make the team. Once he starts to fade he will give up. Too bad he and the others training under his camp were ready 1 year too early.
