What happened to Nicole Blood?
She didn't finish :-0
Will Nicole Blood come back for the 1500m. Vin is too cute if so. This is a college girl who should never have been pulled from the 5000m to save herself for the 1500m, again depriving somebody from racing and weakening her competitive spirit. Things are out of control with these games being played at the trials. I am all for doing what is best for trying to secure a spot on the olympic team, doign it with somebody that has no chance to make the team is silly. Maybe I am wrong, maybe she was just tired and needs a break before cross country. Watching Goucher pull out with 600m to go, and looking around like a lost dog for somebody to tell him to drop is demeaning to one of the very best runners in the last 10 years.
Does she have a spot in the 1500? Seems like she's pretty far down on the list.
Yeah, what would even be the purpose of Blood in the 1500? Nicole is a great girl, but lets get real.
Vicki Huber dropped from the 5k at the Oly Trials, then came back to make the 1500 team. 92 (?)
I was right by her when she pulled off and it seemed to me that something was wrong with her hip. She was grabbing it and her face showed signs of pain.
1996 in the 1500 in Atlanta. In 1988 she made the team and led the final (at the Olympics in Korea) for a while in the 3000 meters.
Blood didn't deprive anybody of a spot in the 5000m. There were only 24 declared entrants.

Wouldn't that be like the same as asking what is the purpose of all the runners #11-30? I believe the purpose for many of these athletes (especially at the collegiate level) is for the opportunity to compete at the trials and to gain experience. Let's face it, they hit the time, they earned the opp.
I'm sorry, but you honestly believe that this topic was fascinating enough to revive twelve days later?
