Compare Symmonds and Wheating look and act like movie stars.

Damn. Scratch the word "compare".
Hell, Wheating wasn't even a RUNNER until a short while ago. And Symmonds was in a very low-key situation through college. They were allowed to develop personalities without pummeling themselves with endless training.
Wheating a movie star? LOL. I swear he is the splitting image of the kid down the street I saw scooping ice cream at Baskin Robbins last summer. Seriously, I swear it was him last year, but regardless, Andrew, good for you, getting onto the Olympic Team, much better than scooping cones!
The 800, it's the "middle ground," the place/space between middle and long. You train for fast and long and can vary in-between. Long sprint, short plan for stretch run. Takes strength, endurance, and a good move on the third 200. Better to have a Wottle than a waddle over that last 200.
It's all there in the 800. In training go down or up in distance or speed/ but all the elements of both you better include.
Those of us who coach know that there are distinct personality types that gravitate to different events. WIthout disparaging either sprinters or distance runners, "true" middle distance runners tend to be the most well-rounded, well-grounded yet assertive and positive in their character. Usually outgoing, yet "normal". They are the guys you want at your parties.
THIS SAYS IT ALL!....WOW!...I WILL NEVER FORGET THIS MOMENT!

Quit this BS - Wheating wouldn't have ended up at Oregon if he wasn't a phenomenal talent. He didn't end up at Oregon because of the soccer - JEEZ.
WOW WOW WOW what a great shot!
A little incriminating for KD, though
you caught that...yeah...pretty funny KD trying to cheat
Great description- so please explain what type sprinters and xc runners are (and at the party)
Spot on man!
I don't necessarily think it's true...the 800 guys on my club were nice enough, but boring.
But it's not implausible. I would first consider body type. This isn't hard; having the body of a good 800 runner will generally get you more girls and give you more confidence (which translates pretty directly into coolness) than having the body of a distance runner.
Well, let's put this in a hypothetical party situation: The distance guys are holding their drinks up in front of their chests and looking at everyone's feet, while the sprinters are wearing shades (indoors) and laughing a little too loudly while looking at no one in particular (except the hot chicas).Stereotyping for sure, but there is a basis.

A bunch of you on this thread sound like assholes, but this takes the cake. You have no idea what you’re talking about and your analogy reads like you’re a pre pubescent middle schooler. Grow up, pussy.
Got nothing but love for ya, distance man. Next time you can try complimenting her on her (minimalist) shoes, lol.
