Anyone try them out yet? Footlocker says they are for the longer runs. Let me know if any of you have worn them and what you thought of them.
Thanks.

It weighs 10 ounces, this seems high although I'm not sure.
Not sure if you are trolling here or not, but I have a pair of them on my feet right now.
I can't imagine running in these things. But, they are great "walking around" and "mowing the lawn" shoes.
I think if I ran 10 miles in these I'd be out for like 6 months with an injury.
Many people have worn them for training 1000+ miles in, per pair. Try the search function.
I agree - Nike Free shoes are a joke of a running shoe - I would never use them However, I was given a pair by a shoe store that sometimes sponsors me, and the are great to walk around in.
i have been wearing the Frees since they came out.
Ran 2:41 at the ripe ole age of 47 in them (including all my long runs)
Also been PF free for the first time since '85.
I'm a huge believer in the free concept... the free everyday is more like a pegasus than a free. it's good neutral trainer and fairly lightweight. it's not at all like the 3.0, 4.0 or even 5.0V2... it's much more protective.
Me too, good article on scienceofsport blog about the new direction companies are starting to embrace (albeit slowly)http://scienceofsport.blogspot.com/2008/03/lessons-from-two-oceans.html

I've trained nearly exclusively in the frees since they came out 4 years ago...liking the originals over the newer versions. Once they stopped making the originals I would alternate newer ones with Haywards/Skylons..etc...Now that the Free Everyday is out I'm using it almost exclusively again. Its a bit heavy for my liking, but I'll take what I can get...
I'd like to get a pair of them to referee soccer games in since I'd be on grass. I also don't have to cut like the players do.
I have a pair of the 3.0s and like them. I wear them for many runs, and I currently weigh about 195.
please don't ever listen to anything anyone says at footlocker.
go to a running store.
I second that...dumbasses
I have trained in the 5.0s for 2+ years now...80-90 mile weeks. No problems. If you have a neutral foot, they are perfect. If you need support, probably not such a good idea.
been running for 35 years. still manage 30-40 a week and they are my favorite shoe ever, I am neutral and a little old lady, so they may not be for big beasts that hammer maximum mileage.

I worked at a footlocker when in college. The only running show advice they will give you, is that the best shoe for you is made by the company who is sponsoring that months sales promotion.
You know, sell 10 pairs of our running shoe get a shirt. sell 20 get a bag and shorts, etc.

Funny how the guys who've never worn them have the harshest reviews.
I love mine. Worn them for 2 full years. They don't break down like shoes with midsoles do.
Nike accomplished exactly what they set out to do -- make a shoe that allows you to run as if barefoot. That took guts. I applaud their innovative spirit.
I'm 6ft and 180lb, running at about 7 min/mile on average, 3-4 hours per week. I have plenty of problems with shoes, but recently have had a comfortable time with Nike's Zoom Elite 4+. As a shoe to alternate with I really like this 'everyday'. It gives the impression of better cushioning and being 'speedier' than the 4+.
So far had them a couple of weeks and with runs up to 65mins - they have been perfect - am thinking of another pair, different colors naturally ;-)
Is it ironic that they charge for the Free?
I have a pair that I wear around but I do not run in. I'm too big of a chicken to jump on board. I do have a friend that is 45 yrs old, appros 165 and he wears the free 100% of the time and has zero issues. He actually has less lower leg problems since he changed.
So it's not just a shoe for the lite little college runners, dumpy old men wear them too.
if you like shoes that are simple give them a try. i gave 2 pair to benji durden this summer and he was happy to get them.
my point, benji is a really bright guy and knows what works for him. find out what works for you.
