The weather was overcast, very cool, with a moderate breeze. It was probably in the low 70's by the time the 3200 was run.

I'll admit that German Fernandez is the real deal, but the record is 8:36 for 2 Miles, not 3200. That probably converts to at least 8:33, maybe 8:32. 12 seconds is a quite a bit over 8 laps (1.5s/400). I don't think he'll get the record, but I'll admit, I will enjoy his attempt to get it if does choose to go after it.

Running the 1600 in 4:07 probably took a bit out of him. There was only about 90 min between races. If he were running fresh, he might be able to give the record a scare.

He should get in the 2 mile at the Pre Classic, I think that will be his best chance at the record. Remember, Nelson ran his in an open meet (Pepsi Invitational I believe). If he can get in there and latch on, I think he can lower the record to 8:32.

Yes, but I was at the meet in Sacramento, and the conditions were pretty good there also, save for a moderate wind on the back stretch.
