Tarnished? Everyone knows who she is because of his song. Her 9:43 is the first race she's run that puts her on the map athletically, following up on her 9:51 recently. She has support from all over the country because of the song, not because she was a 10ish steepler not to long ago. It has been nothing but a positive for her and put her in the spotlight and the pressure, and she's lived up to it. Good for her.

Yes the air pollution there is bad, but to say that it's going to ruin everyone who runs there is just idiotic.
World Juniors were held in Beijing in July 2006. Willy Komen won the junior men's steeple in 8:14, and he lived on to cut that PB down to 8:12 and then finish 3rd at the African championships a couple of weeks ago.

Some "artist" took a giant steaming poop and then named it after her. I really feel pretty embarrassed for her.
