I have heard people say that you add 17 seconds to your 1500 time to get an equivalent mile time.
By plugging your mile time into the actual conversion you find that it is often 18 seconds + change, which results in a 19 second conversion if you are running over 4:25 pace and your time had big change on it.
Has this line ever caused someone to be thought of as much faster than they are? Someone runs a 3:58.9 1500, then someone is like, "hey thats a 4:15 mile" Someone is like, "hey that guy is a 4:15 miler" and then someone is like "thats like a 3:56 1500" and after a while hes a sub 4 minute miler.
