I currently run at 500-600 feet above see level and my easy day pace is 6:45 to 7:15. I have the opportunity (work) to run at 6,000 feet for a few months. What will my easy pace be at altitude? How long will it take to acclimate?

don't worry about ur pace so much just your breathing. As far as acclimatizing it depends who you are, how much you run etc. I would believe if you run for a week everyday, slowly you will begin to feel comfortable. Not gonna lie if you aren't in shape it will hurt. Stay hydrated and start your runs slower and work in the pace. I was born and raised at 7000ft and am around 100 miles a week and only in the past few years when i go back for summer has the transition begun to feel ok. Just be patient, run gently and you will be fine. Enjoy the sights!
yes, that was a good reply. you have to learn how to listen to your body and "feel" the right pace. basically, run a pace that doesn't have you gasping for air. you might actually find that you can still run your sea level maintenance pace. everyone's different. just run by feel and see what happens.
Thanks...I run 50-60 mpw if that helps.
