Can anyone recommend a good pair of spikes for running a 10K on the track?
Thanks.

Ha! What a joke that thread is! Someone actually called the Milers "too aggressive."
I hope no one trusts a board made for and full of High Schoolers with any of their decisions.
Just get yourself in the best shape you can and run in what you always have. It's a 10k, it's not going to matter like it does in the 400...
This kid is brilliant... wear your track spikes on a messy xc course and save your true xc spikes for firm-packed courses:
" 5k xc (really firm ground/concrete on course)-kennedy xc/forever xc
5k xc (soft course probably with mud)-lanang/vent+ "
A lot of people like running the 10k in flats, the streak XC's are a good bet. Honestly what's going to matter more is that the shoes you wear don't kill your legs for afterwards. You're not running that fast.
The plate of the milers is not for someone who is a mid-foot striker or heel striker, thus the milers suit someone who runs on their toes. The fact that the milers put you on your toes makes the spike somewhat aggressive, the upper is not aggressive but the plate certainly could fit that label.
streak xc or spikeless such as the adidas neptune or nike waffle racer.
as others have mentioned - you want a shoe that isn't going to kill you during and after the 10k - unless you are planning to run sub 29 or turn a sub 60 final 400m - spikes aren't going to do much good, and will likely give you dead legs and sore calves for a week.
I would go with flats rather than waffles, waffles tend to be heavier compared to other spikes and flats and also are pretty low on the spike totem pole. The vents(all types) are pretty well suited for 10ks actually, haveing a zoom air unit in the heel rather than some less cushioned flats. It seems recently there have been lots of quality light-weight options in racing flats.
