Hey guys, I'm a freshman girl in high school, and I was wondering if anyone has some good interval workouts (with the pace each one should be done at). My PR in the mile is a little above 5 (though I haven't run a mile in some time). Last week, I ran a 3200 in about 10:35-10:36.
My schedule is as follows:
Monday - Long run ~10 miles
Tuesday - Easy run ~ 5 miles
Wednesday - Long Intervals (1200s, 1600s)
Thursday - Short Intervals (200s, maybe 400s)
Friday - Easy
Saturday - Race
Sunday - Easy
Typically, for long intervals, we usually do things like 1600x3 or 1600x4 with ~3 minutes rest in between. For 1200s, we do things like 5-6x1200 w/ 2 minutes rest in between. For short intervals, we do things like 16-20x200 w/ 30 seconds in between (sometimes these are done in sets), or things like 8-10x400 w/ 60 seconds in between.
If I was looking to go under 5 minutes, what would be some good "goal paces" for these various interval workouts (so I could see where I stand)? Thanks.
