i come from an athletic family. i have a brother who was a pretty good sprinter and powerlifter (took second in state) who ran 41 300h, jumped a 21 foot LJ and 41 foot TJ and was totally hard core about sports. However, my older brother, who never did sports seriously, was considerably faster as a sprinter. there was never even a question about it. When he got to college, he thought about doing track so he trained for two weeks, went out to the track in sweats and tenis and ran a 53 as his first ever 400 race of his life. After college he joined the military and, at base camp, ran a 10:41 two mile. My family always talks about how fast he would've been, and there have been some pretty drastic claims made. We always rave about how he would have gone sub 1:55 easy, but that's not really based on much at all. What do these marks suggest to people here with more experience coaching? thanks for reading the post and sorry if i gave too much detail.
