did you expect him not to?
Where can I find the HS and or junior records? Does Chapa still hold the 10,000 record?
Before I get blasted for being lazy (as opposed to being blasted for replying to myself), I found what I was looking for.

I thought Rupp broke Lindgren's 5000 meter record the summer after his senior year. Is this T&F News site out of date?
What are the High School rules regarding Nike giving free spikes, or gifts, to select High School athletes? Is it an issue to be concerned with?

Rupp ran a 13:45.82
Great, but no record.

The 1k record is held by bobby curtis. Also 3k and 5k are both held by rupp.

Rupp used to own the record, but that was before Trautmann and Chapa arrived on the scene. Get with it and learn to use the internet.
Adolph Rupp was a runner?
Rupp also has the 2km record (5:18), en route in his 3km...
Rupp also has the 2km record (5:18), en route to his 3km (8:03)...
Of course it's true that Rupp was at a significant advantage when compared to all those who came before him and have come after; he was able to cover the prescribed distance faster than others, and, clearly, that is an advantage when shooting for records.
Actually, these are high school records, not junior records. It's a subtle difference but a fairly important one. A person can be a freshman (or possible even a sophomore) in college and still set a junior record, as long the person does not turn 20 in that calendar year. Rupp does hold the 5k and 10k junior records, but he does not hold either high school record. Chapa still holds the high school 10k record.

Is Track and Field News out of date? They've been out of date for a decade. If it wasn't for their track tour business they'd be bankrupt.

Wrong, Rupp holds the HS 3k and 5k records. i know what defines a jr record. Rupp ran his times within the allowable period of time to be considered a hs record. Those records are wrong.
As for the 1k..i think Bobby Curtis ran 224.6 or something?
So I guess I go back to my original question. Does anyone have an accurate, up to date, link for HS and junior records?

Track and Field News is on its deathbed, and they can't die soon enough. They have been completely in denial about the issue of doping and have long helped doping athletes get away with it. It would be fine if they simply said "athletes dope, no big deal," but instead they are lying hypocritical scumbags.
Actually Rupp does hold the National High School 2K, 3K, and 5K records. He owns the National Junior 5K and 10K records. Yes Rupp does not hold the High School 10K record, it is still Chapa. Chapa same 28:32 race was the National Junior Record as well until Rupp broke it his first year at Oregon. Rupp ran 29:09 in his first and only 10K in High School.
I thought this thread was about Fout not Rupp. Good luck Mike. Go seminoles!!
Ok, so I was partially right. Rupp's 5k was a HS record, but his 10k was not. That was my mistake. I was mistaken on when he ran his 5k. I knew that his 10k did not count as a HS record, but I did not know that he was still considered a high schooler when he posted his 13:37 5k.
And back to the original subject, good luck to Mike Fout in his pursuit of Chapa's state records. I'll be there to see his attempts.
Did Ritz just miss junior status when he ran his 13:2x as a freshman at Colorado?
