Hi guys, looking for an opinion from those more knowledgeable than me:
I got sick last week, and got a perscription for antibiotics from the doctor. I decided to hold out a few days on taking them, to see if I could get rid of it with bed rest.
I feel 80% better now, my fever is gone and I'm back in work and jogging, but some of the sickness seems to be hanging on (swollen sinuses, throat, hurts to swallow). I've got a big race on the 29th and I was wondering is it better to take the antibiotics for the 'knockout punch' and hope my system's recovered in time for the race (it's a week course), or avoid them at the risk that this thing will drag on?
How badly do antibiotics affect your system, and how long before the effect wears off? Would I have to avoid hard training?
