Ive trained in the III and IV for 3.5 years now and love this shoe. its the perfect flat to train in, it has a protective outsole so any trail is fine. Ive ran road marathons, trail marathons and one 50k in these flats and have no complaints. as soon as my two pairs are done, i'll def buy more.
Which shoe would be better for minimilism
the nike zoom waffle racer 5, or the spikeless saucony kilkeny xc

Maybe I'm understanding it wrong, but did you say you've been training in the same two pairs of shoes (racing flats none-the-less) for 3.5 years? According to some people on this site, your legs should have broken off by now.

Do you have to size up 1/2 or 1 size?
I bought a pair of 3's in my normal size and they're just way too tight. Eastbay says to size up 1/2 size, but I'd be inclined to go up a full size.
Also, now the V's are listed as being true to size. Anyone out there try these yet?
I havent been training in the same 2 pairs..I just meant my two current pairs. I've probably gone through 4 pairs before my current two pairs I use right now.
I run in 12.5 right now, and I can fit into 11.5-12 in normal shoes. the 12.5 is a little big but the extra room is nice when pounding a downhill on the trails. a 12 would be fine for me if i was only running on streets or flat trails.
ive looked at the kilkenny xc and seems to be good to me. i always get my flats on clearance when theyre $20-30 for one pair so ive stuck w/ the nike CC flats. i would try the sauconys if i saw a good deal.
I also use the inov-8 Flite 250s for the more rocky trails here in Flag and those are good too. a little more cushion than I'd like but overall they are a really good trail shoe.
it sort of looks like the kilkenny flat is "too soft"
That could be, idk. I have a friend who has the kilkenny and likes them. He runs in flats most of the time and I guess they're good enough for him. Until I see a good deal or check them out in person, I'll stick with the nike cc flats.
