I have a friend who is a bit of braggart who claims that in his prime he could bench press 330 pounds and ran a marathon in 3:30. His veracity is not the issue since I know him to exaggerate but I did find his boast unique. I was thinking about this in terms of general fitness. For example, my p.r. is 2:48 but I couldn't even come to close to benching 248 lbs. My max ever is like 180. (I weigh 159). Any thoughts on this. Maybe it gets easier for those pump and run guys who I always pass when I bandit races.
