Wow. 4th on the 800m list in the world in 2007. He made it 6th in his heat in the 2007 world championships. I'm sorry I didn't recognize someone who was eliminated in the first round of heats at the world champs, especially someone who had made it there for only the first time. I'm sorry I told you to go find some linguica. Instead, I should've told you to go find Kaki's long schlong, as you probably perceive it, and go rest it on your shoulder. You know how long Daniel K. Komen has been running top times in the 1500m in the world and has NOT YET MADE IT TO A FINAL??? Why don't you try and lecture me when he gets 4th IN THE FINAL by .03 seconds, a la Tegenkamp, and then ostracize me for not knowing who he is.
1:43.90 is extremely remarkable as an 18 year old, and I am soooo sorry for not recognizing that when really, he wasn't close to being a medal threat because that one race was when he peaked(and it was in late september) and he wouldn't be close to being able to finish with the likes of Bungie, etc. when before then, his time was a run-of-the-mill ncaa time. Webb ran 3:50 3 years ago and could've potentially been a medal threat. Was he? No. Did he have the experience? No. Does Kaki? No. Will he in the future? Maybe.
Don't talk to me like it's a must that I should know who he is, because even though he's ran 1:43.9 in LATE SEPTEMBER, long after the world trials, what does that mean? Ask yourself that. Yeah, he could be good in years to come, and if you want to get on his bandwagon far in advance so years from now you can tell people to kiss it because they didn't recognize his potential now, well, that just sounds egotistical and like you want some kind of hidden attention, and I don't have much respect for that. I also don't think your initial comment was very respectful. As a matter of fact, it was somewhat disrespectful and condescending.
I was just trying to give some props to a young runner who had never really been recognized and had just got the junior world record in a rather fast time for the time of season, and my information sources of track and field are definitely not limited to letsrun.com. I treat letsrun like a tabloid of track and field and when I want to find the supposed hidden dirt and questionable facts on athletes and times, although Canova and othe reputable, reliable sources have posted on here, and I think Canova and others' words are rather reliable. Just stay off this website. Go bug someone who cares about you.
