In HS I ran ~4:44 for a mile, 2:04.0 for 800 on about 25-35 miles a week, after a few mediocore races(16:15 5k and 27:20 8k) in college I gave up running and focused on school. now that I'm done with college and have more time I'd like to run under 4:40 for the mile. It was always a goal in HS that I just could never get to.
What should a typical week look like? when i ran 4:44 I was about 130lbs and very weak upper body, now I'm about 155 and can bench ~200. I usually workout everyday 20-60 min cardio and lift 3-4 times a week. I would assume I could run something low 5's right now but probably need some type of plan to get to my goal. Assuming I want to stay around or under 35 mpw plus lifting and x training what are some workouts that might help?
