I went as a spectator to the Chicago Marathon. I was in Chinatown, very near the 35K sign. As I was waiting five young women, who were part of a college cross country team, stood next to me. They were in running shorts and T Shirts. Three were pretty good looking.
I swear that the number 2 and 4 runners (both Kenyans) both did doubletakes when they ran by us and looked back at the girls. Didn't seem to disturb their strides.
I was very surprised because at that point in the race, I would have thought girls would be the last thing on their mind.
Was I imagining things or do elite runners really check out the scenery during the late stages of a race?
