So this question is pretty simple, when two groups are running on an indoor track (lets say the outside lane during practice) and one group is moving faster and is about to overtake the other. Who has the right of way? We're having a lot of problems with this so I'd like to seen what people think.

I agree, the people being passed have the right of way. Otherwise, they would have to constantly be looking over their shoulders to see when to move over. Or the guys passing would have to shout at them from behind to move over. It's best to just go around them.
If the people being passed are just jogging or walking, however, they should be in the far outside lane.

Technically they do but if your much faster--like they are just those "trying to get in shape" people, not runners-- than them, cut it close so they feel your breeze each time. They'll start watching there backs because you scare the, and they will start to move. Haha, I was just doing this less than an hour ago :-P
