The hornet juice doesn't work, it just gives you the shits. Don't bother.

Jason,
Can you tell us how you use VAAM: how much do you mix? How often? At what point in your runs? During your 42K?
Jason,
I too am interested in your VAAM consumption as well as any details regarding Berlin (the race, not the city).
Thanks,
DougC
has a bunch of info about when to use it and how to mix it. Since I'm daring/a sucker and have some money to burn, I'm going to order 5 or 10 packs.
I'd be fascinated to see the results, if any. I believe "Endurox" claimed similar effects, but I used it for about 6 months and found that be worthlesss to me.
If I think it's great, I'll let you know... if I think it sucks, I'll sell my remaining supply on ebay or just send it to Jason.
From the website...
"VAAM was discovered by Japanese biochemist Dr. Takashi Abe. Abe and other researchers have been studying the wasp species to find out what gave them their long lasting endurance. After isolating the energy source of the hornet as an acidic juice found in the hornets' stomachs they discovered that an optimum combination of 17 amino acids ? the primary ingredients in this ?hornet juice? can produce large amounts of energy. This great secret of nature combined with research into the physiology of exercise has resulted in the development of VAAM (Patent #251869"
So does this have the hornets juice in it or is it a formula based on the juice in the hornet's stomach?
it looks like it's just a mix of amino acids. not exactly a new idea.
You could sell piss to some body out there if you told them it made you faster....
on the website, the articles they have describing its efficacy use a mixture close to the hornet juice, so it is not the actual hornet juice you are drinking. after looking at the ingredients it looks to be just like any junk you can buy at a health food store. plus the studies were done on mice swimming to exhaustion, so from the info provided, no human studies have shown significant improvements in anything.
