So I don't know if this is a normal term, but my old coach really believed in race shocking every once in a while. Race shocking is basically where you go out fast as f*** and just try and hang on. How it's supposed to help is you go out really fast and die, but the next time your body handles it better (especially if you go out a little more normal). Does this really work? It sounds like it would work in theory, and there's lots of anecdotal evidence, but I'd like to know the science behind it.
