I thought that after the ridiculous poll you started about Bob Kennedy would make the people who run Letsrun.com a little more careful about what they put on the front page. However, the few sentences that cover the Great American Cross Country Festival are a disgrace. It seems as though you jumped on the bandwagon of John Dye and other people and decided to trash the entire meet because a few of the runners cut the course and did not run roughly 500 meters of it. The exact part of the course was well marked and at every confusing spot on the course they had someone there pointing runners exactly where to go. (I was one of those people) It was a mistake by the leaders and it was THEIR faults. The entire staff of the Great American Cross Country Festival is not at fault for 5 runners out of 5000 cutting the course. In fact, cutting a course could be considered cheating along with performance enhancing drugs which you so profoundly speak against. I know most people will disagree with this entire post, but an alternate opinion was needed on "THE JOKE" that letsrun.com thought Great American was.
