Letsrun should require registration to post

It's just something I do. Why does it bother YOU so much?

I post to pass on useful information. I can speak on subjects that a majority of runners can not (ie: the hundreds of 4 hour marathoners I see in the gym).

I can also pass on lessons learned that the majority of the board (14-19 year old kids) have not learned as it regards to training, injury, and everything else.

There are still a few of us old schoolers left on the board. Malmo still posts and he's got to be approaching 100!..;) I miss the days when you could come on this board and see bright 20 and 30 somethings exhanging ideas, and maybe one thread on the first page would be about junk. Now, 2/3 of the board is about junk.

On a board of mature adults you wouldn't need to register your name. It shows just how far the board has sunk.

You remeber a time when there would only be one "junk" thread per page? When the hell was that? I've been coming here for years (I used to be under a different name, that name was registered) and I've never seen the utopian Letsrun you're talking about. You must have visited the first day this forum existed.

Oh, and by the way....if the only thing you're concerend about is the fact that people are impersonating you, just register your name. End of problem.

Hey Alan, I'm really, really old (but not as old as Orville Atkins), and I post regularly on here. I don't regard it as anything to be ashamed of. I didn't register my name for a few years, because I was pretty sure no one else wanted it. I did finally get around to registering it a couple of years ago. (And yes, if you did the math, I've been posting on here for five or six years.)

Ha It was him the whole time until "someone" took over his great name and now he is getting ripped by the things he said. poor guy.

Ask Skuj about this, Running Art. He registered after the damage was done, but it really was too late. And he's been hounded ever since.

Also we need an "ID Check" -like system to check if the registrant is a Jew or not. The criteria is 1/16th Jew blood classifies the identity of the poster as a Jew. This is not intended to be discriminatory or anything un-American like that. It's just that recently Muslim terrorists have been identified as spies in key Israeli government and military positions and we need to keep an eye on the Jews just in case.

So registration should be required because when it is simply offered you chose not to do it? With the current system, you have the ability to register. That's all you needed to prevent the problem that you had.

There's something to be said by not registering. If you say something stupid you can turn around and say it was someone else.

Alan, what I think you should do is relax a little . I can tell by your posts that you have a high opinion of yourself. That's great but nobody else really cares about any one individual around here. We're all just hanging around, having a little fun. Don't take anything too seriously including yourself and you'll get by just fine.

We're ALL approaching 100. (Malmo is going to get there faster than most of us, however.)

Why are letsrun posters so damn agressive??? Every post I have ever read on this site has someone snapping on another poster for no reason. This guy just had a legitimate comment about someone impersonating him and certain people just snapped back like a kid torching their parents for asking them to clean their room. Its like they respond with the mentality that the person who originally posted it thought it was a life or death situation... "hey guys, people are impersonating me." Next post- "OK BUDDY, GROW UP, WAY TO BE A JERK, ITS THE END OF THE WORLD HUH!!!! GOD, STOP WORRY ABOUT IT MORON, NO ONE CARES IF SOMEONE IS IMPERSONATING YOU!!!!!!" I could say more but I would rather sit back and watch the...witty... well not really witty because they will probably be poorly thought out... comments pour in about this post... Humor me people!!!!
