Quick question for anyone that can help. I am 6\'6\'\' and about 215 pounds. Currently at 50 miles a week. For someone my size how much mileage do you think they could get up to without their body breaking down?
Thanks in advance!

Well i am about 6 3 and 185/190 and i usually dont do much more than 60-65, usually averaging 45-55 and i still feel pretty comfortable. i couldnt get into a ryhthm of 60+ but its possible i would suppose.
55-60 mpw. I'd say you are close to the limit of continous mpw at that range . Although you could come down for a couple weeks. But 50-60 mpw is will wear down a body over 180 lbs.
I would say run as many miles a week as you weigh.
ie: 150 pounds, 150 mpw
and so on
Thanks for the input everyone.
I am going to see if I can get to 60 a week by the summer and probably won't push past that.
I have been doing a lot of runs lately on the treadmill because of cold weather and I think it has helped because of the surface.
When it warms up in Denver I will probably try to do some trails instead of running on concrete all the time.
Best Regards,
Your body will let you know how much it can handle. Listen to it.
You can go farther and longer if you take care of yourself. You may not need knee wraps, but wear them so you don't ever NEED them. You may not need glucosamine/chondroitin, but take it so that you don't ever NEED it. Also invest in good shoes and maybe gel insoles.
Ramp up smart and good luck.
