I had my body fat tested today using the caliper method (pinch test). 22%. I had it done 2 years ago using the electrode method and it was 23%. I am a 24-year old female runner. My body type is more muscular and toned than skinny (I played D1 college soccer, to give you an idea of body type). I am also very... curvy (but still lean). Not sure if that makes a difference. I was wondering...
a) How accurate is the caliper method of body fat testing? I've heard water displacement is the best, but does that mean the pinch test is pretty inaccurate?
b) How are my results? I.e., what is healthy, fit, overweight, etc. for someone with my profile? A personal trainer friend says 20-24% is good for athletic women my age (not teeny tiny runner types, keep in mind... I weight 150). Another friend says 12-18%. Pretty big difference... I'm trying to figure out what the deal is.
