Does anyone know if you might be able to buy the book online anywhere (cheap?) I'm taking a course at my college and we are getting level 1 certified in it. The cost of the Book is $65 and I'm just wanting to know if there is anywhere else out there that might be a little cheaper? I am a college student so I'm trying to look for all the best deals.

The book costs $65? They must use a different book than when I took the course a couple years ago. The USATF Level I book was not even an actual book. It was just a 126-page paper-bound manual. It was more of a collection of outlines on each topic than a thorough discussion of each. There is a book titled "USA Track & Field Coaching Manual" published by Human Kinetics but it only retails for about $25.
Just did the weekend clinic this past weekend and took the exam and easily passed. Really easy. You could go to the weekend clinic 22 (hours) and take the exam and the whole thing is $125. Yeah the book is like a paperback outline and then the speakers go into more depth. Good luck.
You have to join USATF now to get your certification. Also, your teacher has to be a certified Level 1 instructor. Unless your prof has received special permission to certify you over a semester long class, I doubt you are using the book. Plus, there are some STRICT copyright rules on the book.
Assuming the course and the instructor are on the up and up with USATF, I suspect the school bookstore is setting up for the kill. $65 would be a tidy little markup on that gem. Previous posters have described it correctly. See if USATF will sell it to you directly.
